Day Four - 10th November 2011

Abbie & Chloe Playing with the Puppies

Feeding Time - Actually they seem to feed all the time!

Dozing Time - The Irish Litter's Other Favourite Past Time!

It's amazing how quickly they can pull themselves about considering they aren't able to walk and their eyes aren't open as of yet.

Their sense of smell is amazing, for as soon as Amy climbs into the Whelping Box they all move towards her and start to feed. At the moment their ears aren't open.

Day Five - 11th November 2011
Every Pasturegreen Puppy is weighed twice a day for at least the first three weeks & then weekly and a record of their weight is logged on the litter information sheet.

Puppies should gain a steady weight from birth and by regular weighing it gives you an indication that all is okay or not as the case maybe.

However if a puppy should start not to gain weight or should start to loose weight then it's an early
warning sign that something could be seriously wrong.

It is also important to know the weight of each puppy so that when it's time to worm the puppies they can have the correct amount of wormer or should they gain an infection the Vet will want to know what the average weight of the puppies are in order for him to calculate medicine.

Here are the Irish Litter posing on our puppy scales, at the moment they are tiny but in time only their bottoms will just fit on the scales at weigh time. As you can see the puppies aren't unhappy by being on the scales and are perfectly relaxed with the process.
Day Six - 12th November 2011

The Irish Litter seems to always be feeding - but it's showing in their weights for they have each put on 300g since birth.

Day Seven - 13th November 2011
One thing Pasturegreen puppies are never short of are cuddles and attention from not only the girls but also us adults. Here are the pups enjoying a cuddle from Chloe & Abbie this morning.

Mr Red - Irish Boy One

As you can see they're quite a lapful for Abbie, but she takes it all in her stride!

Mr Blue - Irish Boy Two

Some are calmer and less wriggly than others in the girls arms.

Mr Purple - Irish Boy Three
